Summer Reading Project Now Available
See Link Under School Resources

Dear Students,

Wow! I can’t believe the school year is over. It seems like just yesterday I was having water balloons popped on my head at the “Festifall”. What a fantastic event Reading Arts Day was for all the students. The student participated in numerous field trips and wonderful assemblies. The PTA did a fantastic job pulling together all of this events this year.
What a wonderful year we have had. I am very proud of all the hard work and effort everyone has put forth this school year. All of our teachers had the students working hard throughout the school year. I was continually impressed with the creative projects done in the classroom. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did at the Science Fair.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the fifth grade students for a wonderful year. I wish you all the luck in the world as you move from Rosenauer on to McAuliffe. Based on your effort and attitude exemplified this year I know you will continue to be successful in years to come.
I hope everyone has a long, safe and fun summer and I look forward to seeing all of you in September.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Raymond

Daily Announcements

At the request of parents, we are posting the following suggestions for Back to School supplies. Please understand that these are only SUGGESTIONS for the school supplies that your child might need or want during the course of the year. These supplies are NOT REQUIRED.

As the school year begins, different teachers may encourage students to have items that are not on this list. We realize that parents and guardians are eager to purchase various school supplies before the inventory runs out, but because of different teachers’ preferences, unfortunately we cannot list these items.

From The Guidance Office

Sylvia Rosenauer School offers peer mediation as an option in solving conflicts. Peer mediation is an excellent tool that enables students to settle their disputes creatively and cooperatively. Mediation is voluntary and students choose to work with mediators.

Selected students in grades 3-5 have been trained to be mediators. A mediator is a "third person" who helps disputants solve a problem. He or she does not take sides, but serves as an impartial listener. Mediators often work in pairs (although a staff member would be present during a peer mediation session) to help disputants solve their problems and reach their own agreement. In the process of learning and using the skills necessary in resolving conflicts, students can build life-long habits that will improve all their relationships. Rosenauer’s mediators are enthusiastic about the program and await the opportunity to help each roadrunner nurture his or her problem solving skills and caring spirit.
